Our Partners

Farnfields is headed up by 10 partners who manage the day to day affairs of the business and lead the firm in its future direction.  The partners are:

Fiona Thomas:

Partner and Head of the Private Client Department

Fiona specialises in Private Client work and has over 17 years experience in this area of work, in particular, inheritance tax planning, the administration of complex estates, the preparation and registration of lasting powers of attorney, the preparation of wills, particularly with complex family and business arrangements and the preparation and administration of trusts.


Clare Gundry:

Partner and Head of the Residential Property Department

Clare has over 18 years experience in dealing with property matters and acts for country landowners, farmers, property developers, investment buyers and individuals, couples and families.

Julian Alahakoon:

Partner and Head of the Commercial and Agricultural Department

Julian specialises in buying and selling commercial property, advising on commercial landlord and tenant matters, buying and selling businesses and certain aspects of agricultural and land development work. Julian is also one of the few Notary Publics in the area.

Jacqueline Cuff:

Partner and Assistant Head of the Private Client Department. 

Jacqueline has over 15 years’ experience in Private Client work specialising in Wills, Estate Administration, Powers of Attorney Applications, Deputyship Applications and Elderly Client Work.

Lucy Brown:

Partner and Assistant Head of the Family Department

Lucy is an experienced Family Law Solicitor and a Law Society Advanced Family Panel Member, Trained Mediator, Collaborative Practitioner and Resolution Accredited Specialist.

Frances Bundy:

Partner and Assistant Head of the Residential Property Department

Frances has over 15 years of experience in dealing with property matters and specialises in all aspects of Residential Conveyancing including Leasehold and Shared Ownership, New build properties, first registrations, adverse possessions, re-mortgages including lifetime/equity release mortgages and transfers of equity.

Sarah Butler:


Sarah has over 25 years experience of dealing with all aspects of family law, in particular, divorce and complicated high-value separation cases. She also regularly assists clients in the protection of their wealth by drafting and negotiating pre-nuptial agreements. She is also an Accredited Mediator with the Family Mediation Council.

Joanna Jackson:

Partner and Assistant Head of the Commercial & Agricultural department

Joanna has over 16 years experience of dealing with commercial property including acting on development site sales and acquisitions, acting on sales and purchases of commercial premises, advising on commercial leases for either landlord or tenant), dealing with bank and building society refinancing and providing support to the Company and Commercial Team in relation to property matters on share and asset sales.


Timothy Glover:

Partner and Co-Head of Dispute Resolution

Timothy joined Farnfields Dispute Resolution Department in 2024, as a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Team. Tim has a Law Degree LLB from Coventry University and Mediation Accreditation London School Of Psychotherapy and Counselling.


Melanie Wilkins:


Melanie is a Partner and Senior Chartered Legal Executive in the Private Client Department at the Gillingham office. Mel read English at university before entering the legal profession and studying for the CILEx qualification whilst working. As well as being a Chartered Legal Executive, Mel is a CILEx Probate Practitioner, a full member of STEP (Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners) and a full accredited member of SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly).
