Our Partners

Farnfields is headed up by six partners who manage the day to day affairs of the business and lead the firm in its future direction.  The partners are:

Susan Lacey:

Senior Partner and Head of the Private Client Department

Susan provides management and supervision to a growing department across four offices and has over 26 years of dealing with Private Client matters. She leads her team to provide a holistic approach to private client matters advising on care home fees, protection of assets, tax planning, wills, trusts and lasting powers of attorney issues and advising several generations of families on wealth preservation.

Fiona Thomas:

Managing Partner

Fiona specialises in Private Client work and has over 17 years experience in this area of work, in particular, inheritance tax planning, the administration of complex estates, the preparation and registration of lasting powers of attorney, the preparation of wills, particularly with complex family and business arrangements and the preparation and administration of trusts.

Sarah Jones:

Partner and Head of the Family Department

Sarah specialises in all aspects of family and children law for both married and unmarried couples, particularly those involving complex assets such as inherited wealth, farms, businesses and foreign property. She also advises on and prepares pre and postnuptial agreements for couples who marry and cohabitation agreements for couples who live together.

Sarah is also an Accredited Specialist with the Resolution Specialist Accreditation Scheme, she is a qualified Resolution family mediator and an accredited mediator with the Family Mediation Council. She is a Professional Practice Consultant who supervises other mediators.  She is also an experienced collaborative lawyer.

Clare Gundry:

Partner and Head of the Residential Property Department

Clare has over 16 years experience in dealing with property matters and acts for country landowners, farmers, property developers, investment buyers and individuals, couples and families.

Julian Alahakoon:

Partner and Head of the Commercial and Agricultural Department

Julian specialises in buying and selling commercial property, advising on commercial landlord and tenant matters, buying and selling businesses and certain aspects of agricultural and land development work. Julian is also one of the few Notary Publics in the area.

Sophie Davies:

Partner and responsible for the Sturminster Newton office

Sophie has over 9 years experience of Private Client work specialising in wills, inheritance tax mitigation, administration of estates, Powers of Attorney and applications to the Court of Protection and Trusts.
