The Family Law Team at Farnfields Solicitors (Warminster), hosted a charity quiz at The George Inn at Longbridge Deverill on Thursday 24th January 2019. 60 people took part in the quiz answering questions from multiple categories and helping to raise money to support Jacob’s Ladder.

Jacob’s Ladder is a local charity supporting children and young people with special needs, and their families, by providing fun and stimulating projects in a safe and understanding environment.

Over £630 was raised for the Charity who are currently fundraising to pay for permanent premises of their own. At the moment the Charity holds sessions in whatever venue is available, rather than having their own space to call home.  Such changes of venue can be disruptive to those that use and benefit from the service.

Jo Pridmore, Senior Associate Solicitor and Kayla Urbanski, Trainee Legal Assistant in the Family Law Team at Farnfields who organised the event said, ”It felt like a perfect opportunity to get businesses and individuals involved in a social event to beat those January blues whilst supporting a brilliant local charity. We are absolutely delighted by the amount of money raised and our thanks go to all that took part and provided raffle prizes including: Center Parcs, The Garden Rooms, Hayley Brewer (Personal Trainer), Reeves the Baker, Snooty Fox, Waitrose, Lyons Seafood and, of course The George Inn for hosting such a great event – thank you for your generosity.”

Sarah Jones, Head of the Family Law Team and partner at Farnfields said, “The event was a great success. We hope to organise further events in the future and continue our work with the local community”.

Kirsty and Paul Holdsworth, directors of Jacob’s Ladder said, “I would like to express my thanks to Farnfields for choosing to support Jacob’s Ladder this year. They put on such a brilliant evening and we are so grateful to them, and also everyone that attended and donated in some way on the night. All of the funds raised will go towards our appeal for a new home for Jacob’s Ladder. We currently have no permanent venue and are desperate to have a home that can cater for the needs of all the young people who attend. Jacob’s Ladder is a lifeline to so many families, and it’s so important that we can find a suitable home to continue running our services, and support even more families.”
