The annual Farnfields Solicitors Charity Golf Day has proudly raised £858 for the charity Wiltshire Mind.

With 130 Local Mind Groups nationally supporting over 425,000 people across England and Wales every year, Wiltshire Mind is the local charity and is entirely self-funding. Working hard to support anyone in Wiltshire with mental health concerns they provide:  6 Peer Support Groups across Wiltshire, 2 Groups for Carers of those with mental health issues, an Evening Support Group, 1-1 Counselling for Adults and 1-1 Counselling for Young People, Polish Counselling and provide training for the local business community.  They also have a charity shop in Melksham which supports people in getting back into work and building confidence.

Carolyn Beale, CEO of Wiltshire Mind, said “we are so pleased to receive this support from Farnfields. We have to raise every penny to continue our work across Wiltshire, so are really appreciative. We urge anyone suffering in silence to make contact to gain support and would ask businesses to consider purchasing our training which not only supports individuals and businesses but the whole community as all income from training goes directly to support our work.”

In all, nineteen teams participated in Farnfields annual golf day each with a chance to win a car on the 17th hole if scoring a hole in one. Sadly the car was safe this time!

Julian Alahakoon, Partner at Farnfields, said, “the annual golf day is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for our charities of the year, and our heartfelt thanks go to all those that participated either by playing golf and or through sponsorship, and congratulations to Webb’s Motor Caravans on winning the main competition. We had fantastic gifts donated to the raffle and auction from local organisations which really added to the event and helped to raise these all-important monies which we have split between both Wiltshire and Dorset Mind this year.”

Both Wiltshire and Dorset Mind are Farnfields Solicitors nominated charities for the year, supported through this year’s annual Golf Day and other activities including staff Dress Down Days held once a month at each office.
